LG Kicks Steve Jobs in the Face [Video]

In its ad for the LG Optimus Pad, LG demonstrates the tablet's video game capabilities by showing a Steve Jobs character getting kicked in the face.

At the one minute mark there's a segment that shows Spec Fighter, a martial arts game where the Optimus Pad fights the "A pad" whose virtual likeness is clearly meant to represent Steve Jobs. Without much ado the Optimus Pad delivers a foot to the face of the "A pad".

Take a look below...

Wow is that the best you can do? LG is really showing how they are getting hit by Apple and their devices. Apple rises LG falls!

iPhone Nano Will Use a 'Mostly Cloud-Based iOS' MobileMe oriented??

Apple may be bringing down the price of a smaller iPhone by reducing its built in storage and relying on the cloud, according to a CultofMac source.

Apple decided to lose some of the memory, which is by far the most expensive component of the iPhone (up to one-quarter of the device’s cost, according to iSuppli estimates).

By "some" of the memory, we mean ALL of the memory. The iPhone nano will have no memory for onboard storage of media, our source says. It will have only enough memory to buffer media streamed from the cloud.

It's thought that this cloud storage would be provided by a revamped MobileMe. The WSJ recently reported that the service would undergo a major overhaul and be offered free.

"I'm talking strictly storage memory here," said their source. "It would be a mostly cloud-based iOS."

Smaller iPhone Has an Edge-to-Edge Screen?

The WSJ has updated their report predicting a smaller iPhone to say that it will have an edge-to-edge screen and voice based navigation.

The person who saw the prototype of the new iPhone said the device was significantly lighter than the iPhone 4 and had an edge-to-edge screen that could be manipulated by touch, as well as a virtual keyboard and voice-based navigation. The person said Apple, based in Cupertino, Calif., also plans to upgrade the iPhone 4.

Yesterday they reported that the device would be about half the size of an iPhone 4 and also about half the price.

We can also see Apple making a more shuffle type iPhone with a retro design, focusing on music player and phone.

Apple to Buy $7.8 Billion Worth of Components From Samsung, and will be one of their largest purchased

Apple will reportedly plans to buy $7.8 billion worth of components from Samsung this year, according to the Korea Economic Daily.

The WSJ reports that "the paper also said that Samsung will supply Apple with liquid crystal displays, mobile application processors and NAND flash memory chips used for the U.S. company's iPhones and iPads."

The deal will make Apple Samsung's largest customer.

*thanks iclarified*

IMO Apple should buy out Samsung. This would solve many problems Apple is having, they would save a lot of time and money buying components if they owned some of these companies they purchase from. With Apples close attention to detail as heavily controlling everything that has to do with it's devices, it would only make sense for them to get into the manufacturing of their own devices.

New MacBook Pros to be Available on March 1st?

Apple may release the new MacBook Pros as early as March 1st, according to a new report from Danish blogger Kenneth Lund.

I have just come into possession of evidence that - by all accounts - with new MacBook Pro models in Danish stores Tuesday 1st March.

The source would by nature to remain anonymous (thus deleting) but I can reveal that this is one of "the 3 major chains" on the Danish market, which is officially Apple Resellers.

Best Buy is reporting a date of March 11 in their inventory system for the revised MacBook Pro. It's unclear which is correct; however, by all accounts the notebook line should receive an update very soon.

WSJ Reiterates Smaller iPhone, Free MobileMe Service

The WSJ reports that Apple is working on a smaller and cheaper iPhone echoing statements made by Bloomberg only a few days ago.

One of the people, who saw a prototype of a new iPhone several months ago, said the new device is intended to be sold alongside the current line of iPhones and would be about half the size of the iPhone 4. The phone, one of its codenames is N97, would be available to mobile carriers at about half the price of Apple's main line of iPhones, the person said.

The report also predicts an overhaul to MobileMe which would make it free and serve as a locker for your media.

Apple also is exploring a major overhaul of its MobileMe online storage service, the people familiar with the matter said. The service currently requires an annual subscription payment of $99 to $149. Apple is considering making Mobile Me a free service that would serve as a "locker" for personal memorabilia like photos and videos, eliminating the need for consumers' devices to carry a lot of memory, the people familiar with the situation said.

Apple has built a billion dollar data center in North Carolina that should be operational right about now. This data center is expected to be the backbone of the new MobileMe service.
